FAQ/ Flooding of drainage areas outside of work

If the drainage zone of the river subject to the work is flooded, it will be discharged into the river.

On the other hand, how should we evaluate the flooding of drainage zones of rivers that are not the subject of our work?

This is not clearly indicated in the business manual, etc., so please let me know if you know the way of thinking and methods of other construction consultants.

response

Even if the river is not the subject of work, if you know the drainage specifications, I think it is a good idea to set the drainage.

On the other hand, I think that there are cases where we do not know the drainage specifications. In that case, if you model that there is no drainage at all, the mesh will be flooded for a long time. It will be different from reality, so I think some kind of "engineering judge" is necessary to bring it closer to reality. Some contractors create a virtual river and set it up to drain the entire analysis area little by little.
