FAQ/ Definition of ground height of gutter opening

Among the drainage pump field settings, is the "ground height of the gutter opening" the "ground height of the gutter opening" (inside the embankment) or the spout (river side) of the gutter?

Both the mouth and outlet are based on the image of a gutter gate of the same height.
